Stew filming Mike Taylor on Megatour 10.

Stew Johnson

Age, current occupation & position?
Age 37, I’m a freelance filmer and editor.

What is you current film board setup?
I’m currently running a Fuel Andy Jenkins signature deck with Krux trucks, 70mm Satori wheels, and Bones Red bearings.

Is there any particular reason for your choices? Was board and wheel size a factor?
As for the deck, I just get whatever I can, I’m not too picky, as long as it’s not too big. The only thing I care about is having big, soft wheels. They need to be able to absorb pebbles and cracks, for a smooth shot.

Are there any moments you can remember off hand that your board has been invaluable to your filming?
Nothing in particular, but I wouldn’t be caught dead at a concrete park without my filming board, it just makes the riding that much more enjoyable to watch.

Ever have you board broken or stolen while out filming?
The police in Barcelona confiscated my last filming board, and the one before that some French guy accidentally lost in a canal.

For your next film board setup what do you think you might considering changing up?
Like I said, the only thing I care about are the wheels, so if I can find bigger and softer ones than what I’m using now I’ll run them.

Yep, that board is a “made in the USA” Black Label Pat Rackstraw. Something you can’t find any more. Good Wood = Good Times. Rock on, Mangler.
